Knit

knit.
only four letters
in this simple word, yet
the resulting action is often thought profound.
tiny stitches, each building onto the next, each an affirmation
of the knitter’s love. or sorrow. or her violent rage.
i use knitting in ways many find unusual.
sometimes i knit only to destroy
the maddening voices screaming
deep inside.
