Cable

Twining around itself,
It writhes across the fabric.
Graceful curves and complex spirals work together
To create a beautiful serpentine landscape, until that fateful moment
When I discover that the last twist twisted left.
Six rows back, do I drop the stitches?
Can I pick up AND twist?
Must I rip out?
Paradise lost.
